Occasional musings from a mind infected with cynicism, and hope.

Why is Jesus your savior, yet not your Lord?

I am not sure how to respond to your question.  We throw around terms like “savior” and “lord” with each person carrying their own definition into the conversation.  In general, I am not fond of the term “savior” because it is a bit overly personalized to me.  Let me try to be a little more plain.  Jesus is Israel’s God, who came and walked among us.  There was noting about Him that would lead anyone to believe He was the messiah until He rose again.  The resurrection started God’s new activity of setting the world right.

My desire is to be a part of this setting right action.  I hope my words, and my actions reflect the life and teaching of this Jesus.  This is both my daily hope and life’s avocation.
